It’s been a rough day! I let our dogs outside around 6:30 this morning. About an hour later, I found our beautiful country mutt laying dead in the yard. She was only 8 years old, and I have no idea what happened. She seemed fine this morning, and I didn’t hear any signs of distress after she went outside. I didn’t see any signs of an injury either. I have no idea how she passed. Anyway, she was a true country dog that always put a smile on my face. She was so ugly that she was beautiful! I always told her how pretty she was, and it always made her little nub of a tail wag like it was going to fall off. Cassie was definitely one of a kind. I expected her to be around for many years to come.

She had one brown eye and blue eye

So sorry for your loss. That's a really tough way to lose one. Ours is thirteen years old this month, and we're starting to get concerned about her.

Sorry about this. Our Golden went similarly and it's a shock to the system. I still think for them, it's probably a good way to go. For us, kinda sucks.

We found that losing our 3 legged 16 yr old mixed bread was a loss so painful we still tear up just talking about him 2.5 years later. They love unconditionally and don’t complain about anything. They will in many cases die for us.
Your dog is/ was a real cutie sir. Your loss is real. I’m sure your love was strong. You have my sincere condolences.😢😢

found a huge lump on his rear left hock. Took him to our vet, rather expecting to have to have him put down. Was a lipoma.

Our dog is covered with those. When the wife found the first one, she about had a heart attack. We took her to the vet and they said, 'nothing to worry about.' Had them do a biopsy and it was just fatty tissue. When she started getting more of them, I took her back and had them biopsy some more of them. Same answer. She now has them all over, but they don't seem to bother her. I figure they can't be good, but what do I know. Here's what they look like ... a big one on her side and a smaller one on her chest/tummy ...

One of our dogs had a very similar lump on her back. We took her to the vet and a biopsy was done. Luckily, we got the same result as yours. Just fatty tissue. It’s always a relief when the vet tells you that.
