How easy is the Spectre to clean and how often/what do you need to do to make sure disassembly isn't an issue?

SWR makes a disassembly tool. It threads into one of the ends of the suppressor tube and pushes the baffles out. I shot mine a lot before cleaning it the last time and with the pusher tool all of the baffles came out without any problems. Cleaned them with hoppe #9, wiped them off and reassembled.

SWR's disassembly tool also works one tactical innovations 22 cans. I am sure it will work on others but haven't tried it.

Well crap Rusty I am getting ready to get a mite from Martin and now you post that!!!

lol... There's nothing wrong with the Mite. I still shoot the crap out of mine. What I'm saying is that as long as your already spending the money, just spend a little more and get a top of the line can. lol... Matt and Martin can hook that up too!

You know, several years ago, a deal came up on Bowers stainless steel, full auto rated cans. They were $125 each. I had to bite, and my suppressor has been great. I've fired it next to am AAC (can't remember which model....8 or so years ago) but I could not tell a difference. I think the differeence with .22 cans is miniscule.

I've got a Tac-65 and I regret not spending a little more for a better .22 can.

It was my first stamp though, and it gave me the NFA bug, so I have it to thank for giving birth to my collection of NFA goodies;)

I plan on picking up a Spectre or a Sparrow in a few months though.

If your choices are the spectre or sparrow the spectre is head and shoulders above the sparrow. I don't know if you could hurt the spectre and it is all stainless. The sparrow isn't.

Just about any 22 can will do what most people need. Once you hear several and get a chance to use some of the more expensive cans you will want one. I started off with a tac 65 like most people. It works well for what it cost.

What do you think about the Gemtec "oasis"

There isn't much difference between a thread on can and the integrals. Some integrals don't come apart for cleaning. Most of the new ones do. I have never heard the Oasis but I have built and heard several integrals. They are very quiet on a bolt gun or a single shot. On a semi auto they sound good but nothing like a bolt gun.
