scott i may have to take you up on that! i was almost convinced on the 10" but seeing that 7.5 hmmm now i don't know again.

i'm just trying to sort out how much my sidecharging set up is going to play into the short barrel/gas system. the carrier is going to be heavier and there's no m16 carrier option. hell the only option i've seen so far is the young national match sidecharging. y'all think the carbine length would help in this aspect? but like i said earlier if i'm trying to stay around the 10" mark overall so i wouldn't want to add a kx3 or the likes to a 10"

i guess i could see if anyone could machine an m16 carrier group to accept the "handle" for a sidecharger...

if i do end up with the 7.5 i am almost sure ill run a spikes warthog so i can fine tune the gas system.... when i put in for my stamp would that add in to the barrel length or just the overall length?

i could save a lot of coin if i can find someone who can machine a m16 carrier to take a sidecharging handle.... anyone have any ideas?

and has anyone ever seen an AR-sidecharging SBR???

i've got half a mind to get real crazy and go 5.45x39 while i'm at it so i can plink to my hearts content. but the ammo drying up and tech issues with sbr/sidecharge worries me sometimes....

I've seen them in 9mm and 5.56. Cool, but I prefer the normal AR config.

You don't really need an auto carrier, just run a heavier buffer to achieve the same results.

the sidecharger BCG is heavier according to to young mfg.. i'm assuming this will achieve the same effect as a heavier buffer...

would you say 5.45x39 is a bad idea??
