A buddy of mine uses his Colt Anaconda to hunt with quite regularly. He has taken deer out to about 70 yards with it. He had a cheap red dot type sight on it, but it broke so he decided to go with an Eotech. Here it is:

An R1 would look better, weigh less and possibly withstand recoil better. However, I have to imaging that the huge FOV and 1 MOA dot on the Eotech would lend itself well to handgun hunting. He should be very happy with it.

I agree that some other optics might look better, like an R1 that some had suggested. When I first saw it, I was like, WOW that's weird looking. It's growing on me though.

As Glocktogo mentioned, the things my buddy really liked about the Eotech was the huge FOV, the ease of using both eyes open, and the small 1 MOA dot.

Hopefully he will get some range time in soon and I'll be able to report back on how it performed.

I don't know - its not like that gun needed anymore weight to it - I bet it outweighs 2-3 of my rifles with the optic.

I'd run it with irons before I'd put that big honkin EOTech on it.

Hahaha. Funny lookin', in a functional way. You can bet I'd ask to try that gun if it was my buddy who owned it.

An Aimpoint Micro ($$$) (I love 'em though) would be smaller and look more normal on the revolver; but I am sure the Eotech is a useful hunting optic.

How on earth does your buddy carry the gun thus equipped?
