Anyone heard of these guys?
http://www.cmmanufacturing.com/

Brownell's shows that VLTOR discontinued their modstock for the m1a, this true?

any other ideas to get a pistol grip on an m1a for less than an arm/leg? I know just spend the extra money and get the MCS or the Sage.... thats just stupid money for a stock....

I had wanted a VLTOR when I had my SOCOM16 but never got around to it. Then again, after holding a SAGE stock, that is the one I want if I go that route. But now seeing the one you posted, I am not sure. Thanks for sharing it.

I have seen a couple guys on the M14 firing line forums who took regular GI fiberglass stocks, chopped them, and added a tube and pistol grip. You might run a search here:

IMO, all those after-market stocks make the M14 too heavy for a battle rifle. If I liked a pistol grip better than a regular rifle stock, I would go with the above method. It is probably the lightest way to make this happen.

The Troy MCS system only adds 1.5lbs to the rifle... I agree that the less weight the better, but I don't have a problem with 1.5lbs if the overall functionality of the rifle is increased.

I love the Troy MCS however, 650$ for a stock is way to much for me. I would rather just build a long range AR upper for that kind of money.

http://vltor.com/socom.htm is for the stock and it has the EMOD stock. I had just herd a rumor they were going to be discontinued.

I would have to see some Frankenstein stocks before I took the leap. Durability would worry me on that approach.
