Mighty fine start there.... congrats.

Question:

I've read that the .375-.408 cheytac (and/or the .375-takeyourpick) are gonna be the new pig's feces in extreme range, due to some small European (German?) firm having come up with a .375 bullet in excess of 1.0 BC, blowing away .338s. Plus you can of course launch them much faster than a .50 or .416 or .408 bullet. Plus you can fit it into a slightly smaller platform than .50 bmgs. Any new word on this? I read it months ago.

Very nice gun! I have always wanted something like this but don't have much use for one. Just curious tho, why did you chose 338 edge over the 338 lapua
that is so popular right now? Was it the cost difference alone? I haven't looked at long range rifles in awhile. Just wondering if things have changed lately.

I went with the Edge because I could use a standard Savage long action receiver and magnum boltface (the Edge is just a necked up 300 Rem Ultra Mag). The Lapua would have required me to open up the boltface and it is questionable if the Savage receiver would have handled the size of the Lapua cartridge. That plus the brass is significantly cheaper though not as good of quality as Lapua brass. Last but not least the Edge has a little bit more powder capacity and can be driven about 200 FPS faster than a Lapua Magnum.
