BEGIN" I WAS SO TERRIBLY MISTREATED BY THE POLICE RANT"

Except for one time in Jenks when I had 3 officers respond to me being pulled over for speeding. I think the female cop was a little skittish.I did my normal routine of rolling down my window and putting my hands out of the window where they can be seen and informing her I am CCW and the location of the gun. She called for backup and boy did they come in a hurry. After having me stand on one foot until I got to the count 23-one thousand I finally told them to either arrest me for suspicion of DUI and that I was requesting a blood test or let me go because first and most importantly, I was not impaired, and secondly, I passed all field sobriety tests with flying colors BECAUSE I was not impaired.
By the time it all played out the female had taken up a defensive position behind the passenger side B post of my car, one male officer was in my face reading me the riot act and the other male officer was directly behind me. They asked me why I was shaking and I responded with " Because it is in the 40's and I am wearing a t-shirt and you guys have had me outside the car doing tests for a long time, all of which I have passed and also because I think I am am being baited into trying something stupid so you guys can give me a beatdown" They took my gun out of the drivers side door and popped the trunk of my car(can they do that without consent to search?) and put the gun in the trunk.

Then they told me to go directly home, which I did. One of them followed me 4 MILES to my house and then turned around in my cul-de-sac and left.

END " I WAS SO TERRIBLY MISTREATED BY THE POLICE RANT"

Truly a case of having a 2-3.2 beers at around 7 in the evening and driving home around 10:00 that night. I know that is the first thing a cop hears in response to have you been drinking is " a couple" which translates to 10 but in this case I was completely 100% sober and the field tests proved it.

Too bad that a routine traffic stop turned into such a sour event that has obviously left a bad taste in my mouth concerning this department. never have experienced anything like this with any other contacts.

And before anyone flames me with "You can't drink and carry you irresponsible idiot" please remember that in this case I had truly drank 2 beers back to back at a friends house at around 7, ate a bunch of food, switched over to Dr. Pepper, weapon at all times in my vehicle. Left 3 hours later.

Lessons learned?

1. Continue to behave at traffic stops the way I have for the last 10 years as the officers seem to respect it and have always been courteous regardless of if I received a ticket or warning.
2. I do not drink and drive and rarely drink more than 2 beers at any given time. But in the future the answer to the question will be no, I have not.
3. maybe let up on the lead foot little bit.:anyone:
4. Don't expect the same degree of treatment from small departments than larger ones? Perhaps they are bored or less trained than their counterparts?
5. Perhaps figure out what I did to "set off" the female officer and cause her to become so alarmed. To this date i have no idea other than telling her I was CCW.

Funny part about it is that she could have taken me down to the ground and hog tied me all by herself!:nutkick:

much fail in this post.

I stopped at an OHP road block East of Muskogee. I had my DL, CWL, and insurance ready(CWL on top). I said "Hello" as the trooper took everything. About the time I was getting the "o" out, he was yelling at me for not telling him I was armed. He handed everything back very shortly and dismissed me.

The only way I could have told him quicker was to be shouting it as I rolled up...that would have went over real well.

the first words out of your mouth even before hello should be: "I am a concealed carry permit holder" or something along that lines

We were pulled over in Wichita for an u turn.My wife was driving and we both were packin. A male officer was ticketing the wife. She told him she had a permit and a gun on her. I was waiting to tell him also and I noticed a young female officer by my window. I put the window down and started to inform her that I had a permit and a weapon on me also. She interupted me before I could finish telling her by asking where was my gun. I told her in my pants pocket. She asked me to get out of the car and I did. She asked me to turn around and face the car and I did. I told her that I was an Oklahoma Concealed Carry Permit Instructor and I worked with the Ponca City Police Dept. in their Extra Eyes Program and that I had my P.D. id with me. She snatched that little Kel Tec .380 out of my pocket in a heartbeat. She looked at my carry permit. She asked if I had any other weapons on me? I said I had a knife and she took that also and told me to get back in the car. She later returned my weapons by putting them in the rear seat floorboard and telling me that after we drove off I could get them. By this time my wife was done getting her ticket and we drove off. Then my wife said wasn't that a little strange,I broke the law and you were drug out of the car and treated like a criminal. To shorten this up a little ,I was in contact with their chief and told him that if the little girl officer was afraid of a middle age guy in a Camry with his wife so much that she had to get me out of the car and take my weapons, why did she put me back in the car where I could reach my wife's gun? I warn the people in my SDA Classes that in Kansas you may be treated like a criminal for packin there. Profreedomokie

So, the pistol that you purchased at a private gun show sale so that it is not registered to you, is now registered to you. You see, she took your gun and license back to the patrol car and called everything in. Now, the gun is registered to the owner.

Oklahoma does not have a gun registration.

Been stopped 3 times recently. First, unarmed no need to disclose. Kept to yes sir, no sir, sorry sir, will do sir. Got a warning for following to closely and told to get home and sleep. Second, 81 in a 70, remembered on the way to the OHP's car said "sorry sir, here's this" he asked where, I replied "the glove box" (hard to carry in scrubs) He say's, have a seat in the patrol car. Got a warning for 11 over. Third, last night 66in a 50. Deputy walks up, I've got hands on the wheel seat belt on and look tired as hell. I hand him my cards, he asks is is with you, I reply yes, he hands me my CCW license back and says hang tight. Got a warning 16 over and a slow it down, son.

Most LEO's are very cool about it, I've only dealt with a rookie once and that was after a wreck; very stressful for all involved. I think the clean cut and scrubs make me look like a upstanding citizen, and I'm 21 so I every sentence end's with a "Yes/No Sir". However I fell my luck-o-meter running low so I'm settin the cruise 2 over for a while.

I'm old enough to be your mother and I say "yessir, nosir, it won't happen again sir" ... Funny though, it weirds me out when I am talking to someone and they call me "ma'am" ... LOL

Okay so i got pulled over tonight. First time in over a year and a half and first time in my P71. I was speeding yes and yes that was my fault, radar detector dont help when you and the ohp are the only two on the road. Well he busts a U turn in the middle of hwy 20 and comes after me, hits the lights and I pull over, turn on the dome light and roll my windows down, he walks up to the car and before he can get a word out I inform him i am a ccw permit holder, all he says is oh ok then asks why dont i have an oklahoma ccw permit but utah non resident, I said utah non res is recognized in oklahoma and is cheaper and quicker to get. Doesnt ask where its at or anything, takes my DL and permit back to his car and calls in my info........took like 20 minutes, he comes back, hands me my stuff and gives me a ticket and says to be safe. So I dont believe having the carry permit gets you out of a ticket, it didnt me. And I was late for work because of the whole ordeal.

About a year ago, I was driving west on HWY 9 headed towards Norman, I had to use the restroom really bad, and I knew that there was a gas station about a mile up the road, so I knew that I was speeding, I then see a Norman squad headed east on hwy 9, I am come to the gas station and pull in and hop out of the car and start to walk in, then I hear a siren chirp, I look over to see the officer pointing me back to my car. So I go back to my car but stay outside, the officer was really cool about it, I was going 78mph in a 60mph zone, he ask why I was going so fast, and I tell him that I have to pee really bad, he chuckles a little bit, and asked for my DL and insurance. I did not have a pistol on me at the time, but had a unloaded Glock 22 that I had just bought, it was in the original box and was sitting on my passanger seat. So before I open my door to get my insurance I tell him "I just want to let you know that I have a unloaded pistol on my seat" and he chuckles again and said " well I just want to let you know that I have a loaded one right here" and he pats on his pistol. He was real cool about it and even asked what it was and if I minded if he took a look at it, as he is wanting to get a new G22 himself, of course I said that I don't mind. I give him my insurance and DL and the pistol, he said to go ahead and go in the store to use the restroom. while he runs my DL, when I get back he tells me to slow it down and gives me my stuff back, and asked if I knew where he can get a G22 for cheap. then sent me on my way, no ticket or even written warning
