If you want your dog to look really BA, order actual dog tags with silencers, or pick em up ath the fun show if anyone there still makes them.

Our dog is crate trained, and it is only used for bedding, never punishment. When it is bed time, he goes in, lays down, and is good until morning. He only whimpers about it when he needs to go out and we sleep too late on the weekends. He's just a little dog, so any problems with the perimeter, he alerts me, and I can respond without worrying about him getting in the way. Our door chime wakes him up every time, there is no sneaking in.

Some of the big pet stores sell dog tag silencers. Rubber things that go around the edges to keep them from jingling. They come in several different styles and are about $1.50. You can find a few at the link below. That way if you get sidetracked :naughty: they will still be safe.

My dog has these,he sleeps at the foot of our bed on a chest and when he'd scratch he'd wake me up.The silencers work.

My favorite Danzig song. Belly of the Beast!

DanZig... Satans Child... LMAO... looks like my house, except SLAYER and FAT dude cat in the SAME position as Momma Dawg there.... LOL

Word up!

And about "Momma Dawg", despite her plump nipples, she's never been bred. Everyone always asks if she has, and it's completely understandable, but she's lived a litter-free life.

Not here. She lays on the couch most of the night. If we hear her claws on the kitchen tile and the clank of her tag, then we know she's table/counter-surfing. She'll do real good about not doing that for 6 months or so, then have a couple of weeks in relapse.

Another reason why we don't remove her collar: she complains. She is VERY proud of that collar. Seriously. If she's had her collar off for a bath or something for a while and we put it back on, she has to go sit in the most prominent location she can find and crane her neck high to make sure everyone sees it. I thought that only happened in Lady and the Tramp.

She's gotten good at identifying the critters outside approaching the house. Skunk: bark. Armadillo: bark. Coyote: growl. Bobcat: growl. Opossum: silence (she's figured out this one doesn't get shot). Human: bark, three dog growl, head on the ground, rear high in the air with rear claws dug in, tail in a point, spinal hair standing up.

ETA: She's an inside dog, and to avoid collar marks we just leave it loose. In fact, she could easily get out of it if she got loose and somehow got it hung on something. If we're taking her outside (other than letting her out in the fenced part of our yard to poop and piss), we use a choke chain to attach the leash to. I haven't had to pull it much after her first week on it. When we have a bunch of people over and she gets too excited because she's not used to them and verbal instructions aren't working, we just put the chain on her (no leash, so totally loose) and she immediately calms down.

Even though she has passed on, here is Stormy, looks very much like yours!!

My westie is an atypical terrier. He is lazy so his collar almost never jingles.
My Cairn cant wear a collar cause when it hits her food/water bowl, it scares her and she wont eat.

However, I do have late night/early morning annoyances with them. Its the 30 minute "Lets lick our crotch" sessions they like to do. Repetitive noises, no matter how quiet, will bring me out of deep slumber and drive me insane.

I may have to grab some of those silencers next time I'm in PetsMart. My dog is due for a new collar soon. It will give me an excuse to walk in that store.
