I cannot get the article to pull up, but in Oklahoma, if you are facing a disparity of force, then yes, you are justified in using deadly force.

I have been told disparity of force is man on woman, man on child, or multiple attackers on anyone.

Not only that, but if there is a mob threatening you, you can use deadly force against *anyone* in that mob, not just the most "immediate" threat, if you will.

Mob mentality is an ugly thing.

It's a shame when you need a Executive protective detail to see a movie in peace.

As soon as the wife was assaulted... some dire reactions would have been justified. To hell with "brandishing"... as soon as that crowd formed any thinking person should have "been in fear" of his life.

The misdemenor battery charge is a crock. The Juvie system will slap those miscreants on the wrist.

The numbers seem to vary from

Several teens were asked to leave
10-15 females surrounding the wife
Litterally 100 teens
5 individuals arrested
300 bystanders

Either way, there seems to be a disparity of force, and a reasonable expectation of serous bodily harm or injury. This coupled with FL law not placing a duty to retreat on a concealed carry holder, makes me think they would be justified in using a firearm for self defense.

That is the answer I was looking for, because how could it ever be sorted out by the police who was doing what.

My thought on any situation like this is that if a person is legitimately in fear for their life then deadly force is always the answer, the legal matters can be sorted out later. I'm always going to go the direction that leaves me with the ability to answer for my actions rather than dead.

With the way Florida's law is written you could of have easily defended yourself with lethal force and been fine.

I am sorry, but 10-15 on 2 are odds that dont present well to being able to make it out of the situation without some bodily harm.
