Need help with 3 gun checklist

Hi,

I am new to three gun and would like to join in the fun. I have the the following gathered up:

Ar-15 fixed stock, viper pst 1x4, 16 saber barrel.
M1 benelli with nordic +5 tube and 28" barrel.
Ruger P90 .45 single stack (May not be high cap but I know it and I shoot decent with it).
I have plenty of ar-15 mags, 3 ruger mags.

Are there any items I am missing other than range bag items, also would like to know ammo requirements for 3 gun at OKC gun club. I would like to make it out to the next competition (homework permitting.....) to get the feel for the game.

You might want to get a couple more pistol mags.

I would invest in some shot shell caddy's. I like California Comp Works myself but your mileage may vary.

And thick skin.

If you want just ask and most any of us will let you borrow what you need to make up the difference.

IMHO the most important thing is to know your gear from 5ft to 300m, and make sure it runs.

Wall is right on the pistol mags. You may at some point need to shoot upwards of 30 rounds at any given time with your pistol so a couple mire mags would be nice. That us why we shoot double stack guns in .40 or 9 so we can carry less magazines. Well that and we are all scared of the manly .45 caliber recoil

Glad your going to jump into 3 gun. Don't forget that the February 3 gun is going to be a rifle only match. That will be a much easier first time match for you do be sure to come shoot.

Thanks for all the replies and advise. I have been looking into the California Comp Caddies. How many do I need? I am leaning towards using the 4 shell caddy.

As far as "thick skin", my attitude is to go slow, listen to the RO and learn. I have been told that the first match "I won't know anything" I am okay with that.

If using 4 round caddies, you almost will be forced into CCW or some other "High End" holders You will need 4-5 and on bigger stages you will have to have an amigo that you can both lend to as with a 40 round stage you would need at least 31 rounds of spare ammo. Start with 4-5 and borrow when necessary...thats what we all do! I would also have a good AR mag holder and mag holders for all your extra pistol mags....SPARE battery for the Viper and a bottle of oil

Thanks for the info. What is your preference on caddies 4 or 6 round?
