Hello to everyone, Well today was the first day I really took steps. I walked across the room with a walker, sat down and then walked back. It wasnt pretty or very fast but it was a start. I want to get on cruches ASAP. The Doc said the left leg with the femur repaired was strong enough but pain would limit me. The right leg never touched the ground. I am not quite ready for that yet. I just wanted to post a status report of my recovery. I am doing good and will be back up and working before long. Thanks to all my OSA family for your support.

PS. just wanted to add that I was armed durring the crash and my glock 27 rode with me for 192 feet under the bus and was there when I told the Police Officer to remove my gun and holster together. He gave it to a family member at the hospitol and is by my side now. The weapon has some road rash and the holster was a Galco IWB shows damage aslo but both are in better shape than me.

Good for you John!! Work that rehab hard,it will pay big dividends later. I would embrace the road rash, your weapon now has character and a story to go with it.

I think you'd probably be better off to set a winner announcement date for like Mar 31st or something and collect as much money as possible until then. Not just cap it at $2k. You might be selling yourselves short. If you don't have $2k by the preset date then postpone.

Today was a great day as far as progress goes. I made a trek into the living room and had dinner and then back into the bedroom. That may not sound like much but today is 1 month after the wreck. I would like to thank everyone for the support and all the prayers. I get calls and text messages asking if there is anything I need. I have survived a close encounter with death and came out with a different outlook on life. I do realize that every day forward is a gift. You never really know when your time is up and I am gonna live life like there is no tomorrow. Kinda sounds like a country song, huh?
