I recall that someone has already come up with a solution to the assault rifle issue. Just rename semi-auto military style rifles as "Peace Keeper Rifles."

And please do not mention shotguns - they make the anti 2A people's arguments against the killing power of "assault rifles" look foolish.

Calvin Warner would do well to study the Patriot armies. Citizens had cannons, artillery, even gunships. So don't sit here and tell me I should only own a musket.

"Banning assault weapons is a common-sense way to curb gun violence in America," -- no. So-called assault weapons make up a very, very tiny portion of overall violence in the US. Most gun violence is with pistols by persons from a specific socio-economic background. Will Mr. Warner suggest we ban those people from the US?

Lots more to be said, but like CTs it deserves little more than mockery.

I don't like the analogy. I'm certain if I stuck my finger in my gun I would not be injured but I bet if I stuck my finger in a bear I would probably be hurt.

It's not the gun you fear, it's the very idea of the gun that causes you emotional distress.

Their goal is not to reduce gun crime. Their response is a purely emotional one, without any regard to solvency of the outcome.

They're just scared of something they were told to be scared of, and they'll fight against it because someone else suggested that they fight against this scary thing.
This is obvious in that they don't want people to enjoy guns in a manner that they feel is safe. Why don't they ever talk about how they want you to enjoy guns? A) They don't want you to have guns at all, so their definition of "reasonable" regulation is garbage, or B) they were told to be afraid of that circumstance, and have no idea that the hell they're talking about.
