I was just wondering. What are your views of the muslim religion and what is being teached? Not about the people themselves, but the rules they live by?

^^^ LOLZ. I've always had the impression that the Quan told muslims to kill "infidels" but I have never searched if that's true till now. I am doing a google search, but not coming up with really good answers so I was wondering if maybe someone else understood the subject matter better?

trick question?

The muslim religion mirrors other religions. They have right wing, left wing, moderates. Radicals, extremists, literalists, sinners and saints.

I did do a compare and contrast paper on Taliban and Amish. The research was an eye opener.

I'm not muslim. However there is a guy that works at my plant that is. Awhile back we had a dinner catered by rib crib. I sat right beside him and ate pulled pork.

you have to remember your history lessons....the Crusades were waged by Christians to bring the Muslims into the fold (and of course treasure & aquisition of territory)...so many people killed over the years in the name of Christ....I wonder what he would have to say about that...Lurker66-above-got it right...I am not a religious scholar by any stretch but it seems to me that the Buddists are the only non-violent religion....somewhere along the road of life we have to learn tolerance and respect the rights of others

This isn't necessarily true. If you look at the history of SE Asia, you'll find numerous examples of local wars being fought by Buddhist-based societies, such as the Ikko-Ikki (a loose confederation of Buddhist monks, Shinto priests, and peasants) that revolted against the samurai ruling class in 15th and 16th century Japan. Swords, daggers, and even arquebuses were used during the fighting, and the "leader" of this revolt was Rennyo, a Buddhist monk.
