I tried just a few tomatoes 2 years ago & it did not go well. I'm thinking I'll try a few cucumbers this year. I'm a gardening been myself.

My back is killing me! I've been building up 2 rows for potatoes. Several layers of hay and soil. Got that tip from an old small town gardener. My wife and I put in a large garden twice a year. I'll be glad to help if I can.

Let me get you started off in the right direction. Go to your local Coop, or contact OSU and get a soil analysis done. The kit will come with instructions, a bag for the sample, and mailing instruction. It costs $10, and its worth ten times that. Put on the return card what you will be planting, and they will tell you what you need to bring the soil to the correct ph, etc that your garden will need. Trust me on this.
