are people seriously paying $1.00 a round for 223/5.56?

I won't be shooting or purchasing any 5.56/.223 until I find the cheap stuff for less than .35cents per round...

...it might be a while.

Saw guys at the auction in Norman pay about $700 for 1,000 rounds of Wolf. Heard from a vendor there that he was paying almost that much, just so he would have a little to sell in his store. It's not hard to imagine paying $1 for brass cased stuff.

This is a real bad time to get caught without a full ammo cupboard, that's for sure. I won't pay those prices, probably most people won't, but if you had no ammo at all....

I just sold 60 rounds of .223 for 35 cents a round...
I did save the guy some drive time trying to find it...
But it did cost me my drive time..so i jacked the price for the 3 boxes that cost me 18 bucks i sold for $21
I see no problem with that or is there a problem with that? ...but a buck a round!!!!!!

i just looked at some of the sold classifieds on here, and seen that someone bought regular 9mm copper fmj in brass case, 115 gr for 0.45 cents per round.
and seeing as how all the ammo is pretty much gone from sites like cheaper than dirt, and i was looking at ammo that was gone for even the prices of 1 buck per round of 223 and ak rounds.

makes me think maybe i should post most of my ammo for sale lol.

i try to keep somewhere around this stock.
223/5.56 500 rounds
7.62x39 1500 rounds
9mm 1000 rounds
7.62x54r 400 rounds
38 special 400 rounds
45acp 400 rounds
357 mag 50 rounds

hah, didn't realize that was basically 3k in ammo for a despite person.

On the rare occasions when wal mart gets in some of the federal 100 rd boxes for 34.97, you always have the same guys standing around waiting to get it that turn around and list it on craigslist or armslist for 75.00 a box or more. For whatever it is worth, things do seem to be slowly stabilizing.
