I made the leap to putting in raised beds for my vegetable garden this year. I'm in the process of framing four, 4x12 beds that I would like to fill with 10" of quality top soil/planting mix. Based on my calculations, I will need approx 6 cu yds of material.
So, where is the best local place to get the dirt? I don't want to break the bank on this, but I'm willing to pay for quality stuff. I want to start with good material so I can just add some additional compost each year. My truck has a tonneau cover, so that may complicate the actual loading of said dirt. Worse case I can borrow a friend's truck if necessary.
Let me know your suggestions.
