The fact that we are talking about MY tax money - where is the draw back?

So you are saying working for .gov is form of aid? You are saying we should stop sending the aid overseas and keep it here? So that all the .gov employees can a have a paid day off instead of unpaid?

I hope you're a troll.
As for your first point, WE PAY THE SAME TAXES YOU DO!

As for your second point, if we weren't blowing money on stupid ****, there wouldn't be a need for a furlough and we would work those days as normal. Do you still not understand how this furlough thing works?

I still have to produce the same amount of work that I did in 5 days now packed into 4. We are still required to provide for our troops at 100%.

MoBoost - I think you are widely missing the point here about what a furlough is. I am NOT getting a paid day off. I'm going from 40 hours of pay per week down to 32 hours of pay for week. I am NOT getting 40 hours of pay for 32 hours of work. Don't know where you keep coming up with me getting a paid day off. That doesn't happen unless its my vacation time. Even that's getting reduced too.

I'm not missing the point - you are getting paid 32 hours for 32 hours of work. Like I said, if you are capable and willing to get the 40 hours worth of work done in 32 - then the system was broken, and now it's fixed.

I'm not trolling and I'm not stupid. If a job that provides 32 paid hours of work is not enough for your life style - change the lifestyle or the job; quitting people will free-up funds and work-hours for the rest of the employees, aka no more furloughs. US DoD is the largest employer in the world, and US is in a deep pooper ...

Wow.

So you are telling me that I should stick to doing my 32 hours of work for 32 hours of pay and to hell with the troops I'm tasked to support because they don't matter. Is that what you are saying? That I should sacrifice my conscience and moral code of providing quality hardware to people whose life's depend on it? If so, you will no longer get any of my business at Able Racing.

Besides... With my 20% paycut I can't afford to waste money on non-essential items and services that places like Able Racing provide. You seem to have forgotten that small businesses need the income of the surrounding employers to stay higher so that people can buy their services. That's just capitalism. If you don't like it, get out of the game. You should be upset that the 20,000 people at tinker are getting a paycut. That affects EVERYONE in this area. Not just the federal worker, but the high school kid at Taco Bell that was going to buy an exhaust for his Honda Civic but now he can't because nobody is buying tacos so the store had to cut back hours. I wonder how your business will do after this? It's called trickle down economics, what effects one, effects all.

I don't know why you went on personal offensive. I don't know what you do - so I can't tell you what you can and can't do in 32/40/50 hours; but I sure as hell not expecting you to work for free - aka putting in 40 hours worth of work and getting paid for 32. If you know for a fact that in 32 hours you can't get job done right - than it's definitely a problem; sometime is better not to do a job than do it half-ass. If that's how you feel - then you should consider carrier change.

Yeah, it will suck for everyone with less money coming in - but I am a realist, the whole country situation SUCKS BIG TIME.

I've been in business for over 10 years. I am in 100% leisure business. I am on a 6-week back log right now.
If people don't have money for "toys" - I'll just start taking regular repair jobs again (like we did a few years back). Yes, I love working on Corvettes, Vipers, Cobras etc. - but I'm not too proud to work on anything else; money is the same, but job satisfaction isn't.
