From what I can find online its made for Colt by Anderson as an entry level AR. Seems to have good reviews and the only people who dog it are the die hard Colt guys who just say its not a "real" Colt so its junk. Anyone have any hands on experience?

Its not a REAL Colt so I think its junk!! Sorry, I had to say that. But my thoughts are not far off. To me its a DPMS Sportical with Colt markings, FF Barrel, and a brass defector.

I would think it should be good because Colt had put their name on it, but Colt has shocked me before with that AR-22 they came out with about 5 or so years ago. I am a big Colt fan, but when it comes to AR-22 I would pick up the M&P-15 .22 before the Colt .22.

Now on a good AR15, I think for the money, you can put one together just as good, and nicer for the money. Just will not have the Colt name on it. Then the Colt lower is dose not even look like a Colt with the markings.

I seen a few pic of this un-Colt rifle, and to me its just not a Colt.

Yeah I read that post and a couple on M4Carbine. The responses I see on those forums remind me why Im not a member to either one. I went ahead and picked it up for MSRP. The finish is just as good as any DPMS, Bushy, RRA I have seen. No machine marks and everything seems tight on it. While Im sure its not the quality of a 6920 it should be a decent range/fun gun. Im not sure on the trigger yet. There is absolutely zero take up on it. Ill have to get to the range and see how she shoots. If nothing else when prices come back down Ill get a "real" colt and give this one to my step daughter.

I don't know what the MSRP is, but with all ar's, it's cheaper to build them than to buy a complete rifle. If your happy with it and think it was a fair price, then you did the right thing. But in my experience ( with colt, FN, Bushy, DPMS, LWRC, RRA, LMT, and Anderson) THEY ARE ALL THE SAME DAMN RIFLE!!!! Even all the parts!! I still don't understand why people will pay more money for, say, a M&P or spikes lower then a LAR lower, then tell you how crappy an LAR is, when LAR actually manufactures S&W and SPIKES 's lowers. It's like arguing whether a silver ado or GMC Sierra is a better truck! Same damn truck!! Long story short, you did fine.

Thanks door gunner I know its normally cheaper to build and I have built several in the past few years but with parts still in high demand and short supply I got this for a price I was comfortable paying and not near what the gunshows have getting for them. Honestly im not sure I could build one cheaper right now.

I handled one at lgs a couple weeks ago. I have been waiting on someone to post an honest review since it seemed like a decent rifle. I would have bought it for my daughter to shoot if it would have had a pencil barrel. I didn't really see how it was a "light" carbine with m4 profile barrel though.

Don't let the gun snobs get to ya, they just need a reason to justify their bandwagon mentality on a daily basis.

Will be expecting a range report!!
