One I e-mailed a guy about got me a nasty response. He just knew government agents carried 40mm Glocks and refused to believe that they do not make a 40mm handgun.

I am listening to it and it does bother me some, but I just fall back on the knowledge that 1. Stephen King is an idiot when it comes to guns, and 2. these people are from worlds that are either slightly or greatly different than ours and it's possible in one of those worlds that Ruger did make a 44 magnum semi-automatic... What bugs me more is that when these guys have the chance to grab more guns and ammo when they really need them they almost never do (they grabbed some ammo once but it was all 45, not sure where they get the ammo for the 44). But at least he does have them reloading frequently.

If you ever watch the 1985 movie Silver Bullet, based on a novel written by Steven King, look for the sign in the hardware store window for the single and double action shotguns for sale. Later in the movie, listen carefully when the old gun store owner describes making a real silver bullet round; for a werewolf, of course. It's a hoot! The movie is definitely worth watching and Gary Busey's performance is very good.

Been a long, long time since I've seen that one. I'll have to check it out again. I love those movies where semi-automatics make some mechanical noise like a hammer being cocked every time they are pointed at someone.
