Hey, everyone had fun, I only swept 3 or 4 people with my guns! Great day!

I didn't see a single person get swept in that video. Heck even when the girl got the shock of her life, she kept the pistol pointed in a safe direction.

Still waiting for you to back up the assertion you made in the OP about people teaching other people to point the pistol at themselves when reloading....or to point out where in the video such a thing happens.

(on a dynamic range, "downrange" is not always the direction you are facing. So having a pistol pointed perpendicular to your body can still be "downrange".)

I didn't say it was in that video.
You took my reply out of context, I referenced Wagoner public range.

Obviously I'm not going to point out instructors(forum members)who teach flipping, twisting, turning, canting, the Handgun in front of you in order to hit the mag release and reload. I respect them and that is their thoughts on a reload. I just happen to disagree a little. They will all tell you, this is my way, it's not the only way.

On a gun range, i think the muzzle should be down range, obviously a 2 way range may have differences.
I'm sorry you can't hear others opinions and thoughts.

You asked the question "Is it normal to point a handgun at your face when you do a mag change." and then asserted that there are people out there teaching people to do that.

That's not you stating an opinion, that's you claiming a fact. I'm simply calling bullsh$t and asking you to prove it.

Who teaches people to point handguns at their face during a reload? If there is any instructor on this forum, as you suggested, who does that, then they should be outed.

I can't believe this has to be said... Do not point a gun at your face... ever. I'm no expert but if you're in a class where you're being told to point a gun at your face, you're in the wrong class.

With regard to the video and competitive shooting, you will be hard pressed to find any group of shooters that are more aware of safety. If a shooter breaks 180 degrees with the muzzle they are done for the day. This includes administrative actions like reloads and holstering. A shooter sweeping themselves, whether breaking the 180 or not, is also a DQ. I grew up shooting and thought I had good safety habits until I started shooting competitively.

Maybe saying face was too far. I admit that, and initially it appeared on the video that he did point the muzzle towards his face, I THOUGHT.
I just think it is unsafe to flip, or twist the gun sideways if the muzzle is not pointed towards the berm.
It has been almost 10 years since I took the class and i've been wrong before, could be again.

why do they look down the barrel? to see if there is a round down there? lol

you still haven't told us who teaches the turning and in what class. we's waitin

I'm not going to. If you've taken classes in the area you already know. Like I said it has been quite some years, maybe I thought it was dangerous then and it really stuck in my mind.

Ok, I understand now. Thanks.

(BTW, I agree with you about public shooting ranges. I only go at very specific times, when the idiot factor is not likely to be present)
