I gotta get me one of these silenced 22's. what's the ballpark figure on getting the license and gun/silencer?
The "license" is a tax stamp. You pay for a tax stamp per NFA item, $200 per item. A .22 can is anywhere between $150-$500. So minimum is $350ish. The gun, that is entirely up to you.

The wait sucks, but it is worth it.

its worth it, I love having one and plan for 4 more..... down side is that once you start you cant stop....lol

at this point after getting my 22 can, I only have 3 22lr guns that are not threaded. And those are revolvers. when I do my 30 cal can then the 308's and 223's will all get threaded, and the 45 and 9mm can's will mean new barrels for the 9mm's and 45's

I just started buying cans about four yrs ago and it has literally changed my family. I have young ones that were skidish about shooting even with hearing protection. I have learned to start them out shooting with the can on. It takes some of the apprehension away. My son stopped crying when it was time to get on the line. Now he shoots anything I have with or without the can. My daughter is now 8 and I started her last year. I believe that if I have a firearm, I should be able to shoot it with one. Now you can debate on shooting supersonic whether it is really worth it. I shoot super and sub and love it all. As far as the wait, I have waited six weeks when I first got my first can and am have been waiting three months now on my fifth. If you think you need one, the wait is well worth it! A family that shoots together stays together.

The only regrets I've ever heard about suppressors came from those who bought a cheap (read: louder) one. You have to look at buying a suppressor as a marriage, only more permanent. :)

Buy once, cry once. Get the best can for the best price and you'll never want to sell it. I've sold a machine gun and a short barreled shotgun, but even my worst can is not going anywhere.
