I saw the bales, and the flag on the end. I stopped, thinking maybe we were supposed to go over, but the flag path went around the end of the bales to the right. If they wanted us to go over them, they should have put a flag on each side.

Speaking of flags on top of stuff...did anyone else want to shoot the flag right at the end that was so graciously placed right at the peak of the dirt mound?

Since Al said if it was there u were probably supposed to consider it an obstacle and the flag was stuck in the top of the bale, I could not go around it. Started to but went back and over.

I think we asked a RO and they weren't an obstacle. I went over them thinking the same thing you thought...I'm glad I wasn't the only one.

It was awesome meeting yall/shooting with yall. I'll have the video thrown together sometime this week so you can show people what you did. Some of the video on the shooting stages didn't come out great because of the barriers/my rifle has a big ass scope on it.

I know some of yall asked about the quality of the video, so here is an old video I shot with a GoPro1. I was using the go pro 3 black edition yesterday so it should be betterish. Make sure to watch it in HD

As for the course itself, I thought it was pretty solid with the land yall had to work with. There was definitely some trail confusion though, and I was told to go from a wrong flag color to another after one of the stages which kind of messed me up. That's my bad for not writing down the flag order at the start though.

I put the flag in the bale. Didn't intend it as obstacle, but A+ to those that went over it! I heard some folks were skirting the barbed wire....

Looking for the lumens
Man, what a fun two days. It was good getting to meet all of the competitors (limited though our introduction might have been). I was introduced to a few via their OSA handles, and found out who UMB is after reading his AAR above. Glad you were able to press on safely.

I want to thank Daniel & Al for conceiving of, planning, and orchestrating the match. I had a great time with the course, though I wouldn't have believed it while it was happening. As SMS stated, if you fancy yourself a gunslinger this is the kind of event to find out whether you truly know very well what you are about. This was no square range group grope. This was a legit test of a shooter's fitness, his skill at arms, and of his current equipment configuration under no-kidding field conditions. If you want to pressure test your skillset and your tools, this is the kind of place to do so.

I also want to thank all of the competitors for their cooperation, excellent attitude, and dedication to safety. There was some excellent skill on display, as well as a great deal of grit & determination in the face of some fairly adverse conditions. Folks were just sticking with it and fighting through their issues which were compounded by the heat. I was impressed all day long. Thanks to all of you.

Thanks are also due to my fellow ROs. There were, at my count, 8 Appleseed Instructors & IITs present as well as a couple of USRA Instructors. It was a pleasure working with and getting acquainted with you all, even Boomer!

See you all at the next one.

Great match
It is cool to read through the post and know who the posters are from the match. I learned the hard way that pink flags appear as a bright orange when wearing sun glasses with an amber tint (other sunglasses just broke and picked these up on way to match). It wasn't until after stage 3 when the RO said follow the pink flags and I had to ask where do you see pink flags he pointed I finally removed the glasses and realized I can't see pink with these glasses on.
On stage two thank goodness for the VTac wall that comp sure was loud when I realized I hadn't put in my earplugs lol.
I just wanted to say great job RO's the match was run safely and was enjoyable.
Good job Lonnie that was a long course.
Take care RebelRacer and Allout hopefully i will make it up to the Tulsa area and shoot another match with you guys.
It was good to meet everyone else
Until the next match
Take care
