Headache. I've had headaches that were so bad they made my teeth and ears hurt. Oh wait ... OK ... tooth. I've had toothaches that made my ears hurt but never had an earache that made my teeth hurt.

Earache!!!

I've only had one earache in my life...never before that one....never since that one. Holy Crap...it did hurt!!

I had parked my truck in the driveway and was getting ready to clean some fish(when I lived in Galveston) I had just caught in the Gulf when it hit me.
Holy ****.....I thought one of the neighbor kids had shot me in the ear with a bb-gun. 2 days of agonizing and my wife couldn't take me whining anymore...so off to the doctor we go.
They wanted to lance my eardrum...it was swollen. Wife refused and asked if they could prescribe me some medication...long story short....in a few days I was good as new. NEVER had one since then??!!

The only toothache...was tobacco related. Yes I brush my teeth at least twice a day...sometimes more.
One day my jaw/tooth was starting to cause me pain....real pain!! All night long, hot, sore, heart pumping/throbbing pain.
That was a Saturday night, Sunday afternoon, it was starting to swell up(gum area where the tooth is located) and feel like someone had shot me in the jaw with a .410 shotgun.

I have a buddy who's a dentist and thinks he's a comedian on the side. Monday at 9:00a.m. I was in the reception room asking to see him. Well, being a friend I got bumped to the top of the list.."emergency"...and went right in.

After 20 minutes of "Hmmmm" and "That doesn't look good" and "You must be in pain" he gave me his diagnosis.

He asked me which I wanted first: The "good" news or the "bad" news?

Heck, I can handle the good....give me the bad!!

It looks like cancer and I need to immediately remove your tooth and take some samples of the affected area.

The good news...if you stop chewing tobacco...this may end now...who knows?

Long story short....I quit for a while. No cancer...but have increased the cigar consumption!!!

Earaches are a b!tcH.

When I was younger, and a lot better looking by the way, I was visiting my parents near Duncan. Sunday morning waiting for breakfast, a wisdom tooth suddenly let go with the worst pain I have ever experienced. Made bone marrow biopsies feel like a skeeter bite. If you call enough dentists on Sunday morning, one will eventually take pity, or at least one did that day. I couldn't drive because of the pain, so my brother drove me to town.

The dentist said the nerve was open to the air and that it probably was hurting quite a bit. No kidding. He said it needed to be pulled, but that it would be difficult to get it numb. I told him to just pull the cussed thing and never mind the anesthetic. He put a rubber brace between my teeth and yanked the tooth out. Never felt anything so good. Pain went from 10 to 2, which was like no pain at all.

Had earaches most of my early years. Scars on eardrums, and do recall lots of pain. My dad used to reverse a cigarette and blow warm smoke in the hurting ear. Don't recall it helping much, but the thought was there.
