My new Bear safe will be delivered Wednesday. The cool thing about Bear is you can trade it in for what you paid when you want to upgrade. I decided to keep my old smaller Bear safe for ammunition and overflow if I actually fill up the new large one. Whatever you get...BOLT IT DOWN!

You are not going to get a Armorvolt or a Bear safe for that price unless I looked in the wrong place's.

I do not know how good the safe is but atwoods does have Winchester's Pony series 24 gun for 599.99 this week. I think it had a 30 min fire rating

Buy the most safe you can afford. As others have stated a 20-24 gun safe will hold 10-12 long guns. I myself prefer liberty way more than either a bear or armor vault. I've got two and really need a third. My fat boy 64 liberty will hold lots of guns and other valuables I keep my "using" guns in a smaller liberty. And am running out of room. I am considering a Pendleton but they Are expensive. But I like the "lazy Susan " concept to make it easier to get a gun without having to move 8 or so to get one out. And as someone else said whatever you get bolt it down. And put desiccant or a dehumidify rod or both in it. Good luck.

Look. A safe is an INVESTMENT in your security. Do you go to the grocery store and buy the beef that's all brown and bloody because it's $1 a pound less? Do it ONCE. Do it RIGHT. Pony up a little more money and buy a Bear. You'll find it's not just a gun safe, we have my wifes jewelry in it, all our passports, birth certificates, coin collections, etc. Watch some of the youtube videos of people breaking into ordinary gun safes and tell me how warm and fuzzy you feel.

Best of luck!

Bear all the way.

If he is a patient person, I get my safes from a friend of mine who buys commercial safes from all over the US. He is one of those guys that buys department and grocery stores. I mean the whole store. He has huge buildings full of everything a person could think of. I just got my fourth one from him. I have the safe shop up on 23rd st come out and replace the locks. I have 450 in this last one. It is a true commercial fire safe with walls and door that are 4.5 inches thick. It is quite different than the gun safe that are fire rated for 20-45 min. You couldn't buy a used one for less than a couple thousand. If you would like an introduction just PM me.

This is why I put up with all the extraneous bull stuffing that makes up most of this (and probably every) internet forum.

While I am not in the market for a safe at the moment, you can bet this is a way to score a huge bargain if you are patient.

Insureyourself, it is very nice of you to make this offer. Again, this kind of mutual support is what makes OSA special.

Canon has the worst customer service when it comes to the warranty. I have talked to several safe retailers and all said to stay away from canon and one more. Ill think of the name in a little bit .
