That is good news Okie4570. I think the low number of sightings may be due to so much forage this year. Deer do not have to move to look for food. They can stay in a very small area and have plenty to eat this year. The grass is so thick and tall around here that you can't see them from very far away either like in previous years. If they are 50 yrds off the road, they are in too much cover to spot them. Maybe we will see more numbers when the acorn crop is gone.

This is what I am seeing as well

Same here, corn is piling up under the feeders, and I am in an area that has been pretty much unaffected by drought. There are so many acorns right now that they have little need to hit the feeders. They may come in and pick at it for a few minutes, but they leave before cleaning it up. That has not happened the last few years. I like the fact that they aren't making it easy, it will make for more strategic hunting.

Well I hope the switch gets flipped where I hunt. I glassed the area this morning for about 2 hours and never saw a deer. As far as the grass being tall, I'm looking on wheat fields, milo and soybeans. Early morning and late evening.....Nothing. This is in fields along a really good creek bottom (black bear creek) that I have seen deer on this time of year for the past several years. Maybe they're doing all their eating at nights...

That is good information fluxed. I will pay attention to that next season. I read that all it takes is a freeze to stop EHD for that year so it should not be a problem for now. Of course the damage is done.
I do believe that the ample food supply has had an affect on the deer but it still would not completely explain our lack of deer. I am running a good number of cameras in various locations without getting nearly the number of photos in comparison to the last 8 years with fewer cameras.
If it was all night rutting going on with limited daytime activity, I would have numbers of night photos as in past seasons.
The many people that seem to have the same issues over what appears to be a large area of the state is troubling. It will be interesting to see how the gun season plays out.
