Find a black pair of New Balance shoes. Knowbodys gonna be checkin out your feet anyway. Old people swear by them too.

Never ever listen to people who say "cowboy" boots. Them things were made for riding, besides have you ever seen an old cowboy walk or theyre posture? Bow legged and hobble around like a ruptured duck.

It all depends on what you want to spend. Cole Haan makes good entry level dress shoes as does Allen Edmonds. If you want to lay out money, then go for A. Testoni, Zelli, Santoni, or Aldens. Buy on line. You will save money.

If you wore a size 13 and had asked 8 months ago, I could have given you enough shoes to make you look like Imelda Marcos (google it if you don't get the reference).

Shoes are extremely important.

Allen Edmonds are indeed awesome for the money. Not a comfort sole, but a true leather sole that will conform and break in with your personal foot and grow to be very comfortable. Above those, I like Alden but as JB alluded to thy're more $$$$. Currently I don't wear dress shoes often, so I just buy the Allen Edmonds and don't own any Aldens.

You can find good deals, even on new shoes, via ebay. For Alden, email http://www.theshoemart.com/ and ask them to add you to their factory seconds email list. Great prices on shoes that have few to no perceivable flaws.

Murphy J, what school are you attending for watchmaking? Will you be certified in any particular brand? Are you going to work for a company(Rolex in Dallas), jewelry store, or your own store?

The school is OSU Okmulgee. They have a Rolex sponsored program and when I complete it I will be Rolex and ETA certified. Now, if you know anything about watches, then you know that ETA supplies a very large portion of the watch industry. I would love to go out on my own and get a Rolex parts account, but they are very difficult to get. My most likely avenue of employment will be with Richemont or Rolex in Dallas, but from what I know, I think I might prefer a retail environment where I see more than one kind of watch and have a hand in providing exceptional customer service.

I'm seeing a lot of the same suggestions, so that's where I'm focusing my search. Thanks guys.

I'm quite content with my Doc Martens.

I got a pair of Doc Martens for Christmas. They hurt like a sumbitch, until I got them stretched out (they don't make half sizes or wide widths). They feel pretty awesome now and don't look half bad either.

Ecco, go try them on at Dillard's and buy them on Amazon.

I used to work retail 12-15 hours a day and that's what works, still wear them due to comfort. Ain't cheap tho.

^^^ THIS ^^^

I have wore ECCO shoes for over 20 years....No comparison !! You also get a Lifetime warranty with each pair.
