I have been taking notes for a couple builds I am planning. Trying to build a few real shooters. There are hundreds of opinions out there, so what is yours?

If money wasn't an issue, what would your dream AR build be? Include any AR caliber, SBRs, pistols.....whatever flicks your switch.

Please be as brand specific as possible and include as many parts as you deem important to this build....lower, upper, trigger, barrel length and manufacture, type and brand of handrails.....etc etc etc.

I would get you started but I am not quite sure on mine yet. Hopefully you all will give me some ideas.

Happy Dreams!

K.I.S.S. ............. Just my humble opinion, brand is not important and neither are all the heavy azz crap most people weigh down a rifle with. Not to say I wouldn't rather CAR have a feather and I had his RR its just that the money spent could of spread a heck of a lot further

My current dream AR is:

Start with a Knights Armament SR-16 E3 Mod2. Having an SR-16 requires me to be a Class3 FFL or Govt Agency as it's full auto and it wasn't made before '86. Mod2s don't even exist yet, but it would be a standard 14.5" SR-16 upper with a 13" URX4 rail.

Replace some parts with:
Magpul STR stock in FDE
Magpul K2 grip in FDE
Rainier Arms Raptor charging handle
Geissele SSF trigger
Battle Arms CASS-ST full auto version
Trijicon VCOG (won't be released for another month or two)
KAC MAMS
KAC 556QDC/CQB suppressor
Surefire m600u
KAC 45° offset BUIS
VCAS 2pt Sling
Cerakote the metal in Magpul FDE

100 Gen M3 windowed PMAGs
20,000 rds Federal Gold Medal Match 77 gr

You did say dream right?

None of these are anywhere close to set in stone, but maybe:

Seekins or Noveske billet lower.
Mega Arms Billet Upper receiver
Bolt from AR15 performance
Geissele trigger
I think maybe a Liljas or White Oak Armory barrel

So many hard decisions......................Luckily no one said I can only have 1 ;)

That is true. If I had to do it today, there is no way I would spend the money for what an RR costs. However, I bought mine in 1991 for $950 and updated it thru the years, so the rifle I pictured above is under $2000 as it sits.
