To me the hypocrisies can start when you believe there can be only one god in existence. This worked well when there were only a few clusters of civilizations widely scattered around the world several thousands of years ago. Each area had their one god. Now you can be on the other side of the world in a few hours in a different culture whose primary one god is different than yours.

If you think about it, look at the fact that primarily the culture where you grew up and formed your thoughts and values in the world is the primary deciding factor of what one god you believe in. Now we have such a mix of people re-locating to different countries that from a religious point of view we are in a mess of bits and pieces. Because there are some people that think if you do not believe like them, you should be killed. This has happened with many religions through the years in the past, even the new religion of Christianity, and will most likely continue in the future.

What is interesting to me is that over the tens of thousands of years, virtually all the religions have a common makeup of structure, the names are changed, but the moral to the stories are similar with the end result trying to be accomplished being fairly similar. All promote that my one god is the only one god in the universe.

To me, religion is a personal thing. I have my thoughts and my beliefs, you are welcome to have yours. If mine bothers you, go some where else, do not try to force me to change mine.

I agree with your sentiment but I have a little different viewpoint. At first was the understanding that God is in everything since everything came from God. God is the source. That is a very unifying and self empowering belief. It then began with a priest class that held this knowledge who realized that the information they held gave them power since it put them in between the people and the most powerful force in the universe. The well known monarchies devolved from the priest class where they believe they were given the divine right to rule over others. Even the British monarchy believe its divine line is traced back to ancient Sumaria. We have had folks like Jesus and others who tried to spread the original message that we are all of God and should treat each other as such but that gets hijacked and manipulated along the way as well.

I dont believe that the world will remain divided along these racial and religious lines forever. If you look back in the last 5 years just look at how accepting and interconnected the world has become compared to the 100 years before it. I mean YouTube is only 5-6 years old and look at how it has revolutionized the way the world looks at each other. Not to say there wont be different views but I think we will be more accepting of others of different beliefs.

youre not gonna like this answer but i kinda already hit on this. all the other religions are just me twos of christianity. satans whole game is he wants to be worshipped like God. so he comes up with all these other confusing religions, ie, cant blind em with brilliance baffle em with bs?

and no matter if you dont choose christianity, Romans 1:20 says something to the effect that you look at nature and realize the universe is something special. and if you believe that then its your responsibility to figure out how it happened, no matter your birth country.....

and remember, christianity is simple. we got it down to one rule, the golden rule. thats why i believe christianity is the one true religion. simplicity. its sensible. was simple at the beginning, adam and eve screwed it up, jews wanted kings and rules and laws, they had thousands of em. and now we back to simple. beleive on Jesus and you shall be saved. game over. super simple. and thats why all the other religions are bunk. pray to meca thousand times a day etc etc

How can you be religious and believe other intelligent life exist within the universe or beyond?
How can you keep up with all the hypocrisies?

Anyone?

I saw Billy Graham talking about this on TV. So what he said must be true.

John 3:16 Graham says that "For God so loved this world that he gave his only son".

That isn't what it says in the bible but Billy Graham believes there is life on other planets. He used the word "this" before world and the KJV uses the word "the".

Yes, I saw Billy Graham misquote scriptures on TV many years ago. That will be harder for some people to believe than life out there somewhere.

Well he is protestant and I am not.

Why do you think it is an hypocrisy. Let's catch an alien and ask them about their God. They are more intelligent than we are so we would be foolish if we didn't believe them. How would you explain a being from another planet that believes in God?

Your fundamental flaw lies in your first two sentences. You are assuming most ppl, if not all, believe in some type of god. I believe in a god (a lot of folks don't), but there has to be more. My tiny brain can't fathom omnipresence.
