Well...due to the ridiculous amount of good info and advice on this board from multiple members coupled with retail awesomeness from Fat Boy Tactical, MidwayUSA, & NDZ Performance...I am in the process of building my next AR15 rifle (this one in 6.8SPC). It may take me a little time, but I think I'll be happy with it...January will be lower month.

Of course it starts with this:

And then I'll add some of this:

And to finish up, one of these (not sure which one I like more):

I wouldn't be doing this if it weren't for this forum...not sure if that deserves thanks or blame. I guess that pistol will have to wait a little longer.
Wish me luck.

I like the Magpul fixed rifle stock. I want one in OD. Kinda thought the foam on the ACE would get torn up. They are still cool looking wrapped in para cord with no foam. Will you be using this for a hunting rifle??? Damn it I want a 6.8 too.

I had the same thought about the ACE stock...that's why I got the Magpul as a backup. The paracord thing sounds interesting.....may have to look into that.

I told myself that 2014 is the year I go hunting and this will travel with me - figure I need to learn sometime and I like the 6.8 for it.

I've spent many an hour on the 68forums reading and reading. Good resource for the 6.8SPC.

I'd recommend adding the JP springs for $12, and a grip screw trigger adjuster for $14.

Best $25 I've put into my AR trigger to date. I have the ALG trigger also. It makes for a very nice trigger set.

Roger that.....definitely something I'll look into.

Just realized last night that I don't have a grip screw and I'm stuck at a wrestling tournament today and tomorrow. Anybody know a place open on Sunday to get a grip screw?

I am most definitely wanting to build a hunting AR and the 6.8SPC is what I'm wanting to build. Do you know what barrel you are wanting to use?

I was looking at Anderson but think I will probably end up with a Stag bolt/barrel.

I have been mulling over the ARP options too.

Barrel/bolt is "upper part 2" - so I'm giving myself a good amount of time to change mind over and over.
