My company office is a 2011 Dodge 3500 dualie with the Cummins, 348K on the odo. Half those miles are pulling horse and stock trailers. Towing it gets about 7-8mpg, bobtailing about 15mpg. 95% of those miles are highway.

What kind of down time have you have with 348k miles in 3 years? That's a damn lot of driving!

2012 F-350 4x4 DRW 3.73 gears 13,000 Miles
Driving style a few over the speed limit with or without trailer (14,000 lbs. tall fifth wheel)
Best empty highway 16 MPG
Average around town 14.5 MPG
Best towing 11.26 MPG (was going slower with a group of trailers)
Average towing 10 MPG (This would have been 7.5 in either my 6.0 or 6.4 for perspective)
Worst Towing 8.6 MPG One hell of a head wind and on the turn pike (This would have been 6 in either my 6.0 or 6.4 for perspective at a slower speed since neither could hold the speed like the 6.7)

So across the spectrum I get 33%+ percent better
BTW: This has been the best ford diesel since my 7.3 and way more power, if it was not for traction control the rear 4 tires would always be spinning

I would talk about the Dodge but I don't own one but the heated steering wheel sure would be nice on cold morning

2014 F250 King Ranch with the 6.7. I am fixin to roll the 10k mile mark tomorrow. I get an average on the highway of around 18.5-19. As good as 21 but that was one time and down hill and no wind. Haven't seen it again. Average in the city is 15-16. Pulling a 34 ft 8500 pound bumper pull travel trailer I get between 11-13. Depending on wind and hills. Has plenty of power. Truck is bone stock. I do not know the gear ratio off the top of my head.

Depends... 34 hour restarts every 5-7 days on the road. I put about 3500-4500 miles on the rig each week. The guys at Discount Tires in Yukon can't get over the miles I drive each week as I'm rotating tires about every other week. The truck has only been in service for about 28 months.

I checked mine tonight over flat terrain, negligible wind @ 60 indicated for a five mile stretch. With around 750 pounds of cargo I was able to keep it @ 24 MPG. I'm still trying to see if it will break 25 at highway speed in the right conditions. I think mine has the 3.55, but I need to verify that.

We have a f250 at the ranch and it's primary purpose is to pull our 8x24 aluminum stock trailer. Mainly with a few head of show cattle and tack feed etc when we go to shows. It gets about 12.5-14 depending on where we are going and the load. Got 15 mpg though going to Louisville ky two summers ago. 13 last summer going to kc. It doesn't get driven much really. Will have had it three years in March and it's got just under 14k on it. Gets about 16 on the hwy empty but I have a lead foot. Our old 6.4 would get 7-9 loaded and 12-15 empty. My 6.4 feed truck averages 6.2 with just a feed box and two 1100 lb bales and a flat 5 with a bar top gooseneck empty or loaded. The 6.7 offers way more power for speed but I'm not sure of the rear end.
