I've been looking into getting a gun for home protection but also want something to use as a concealed weapon in the future. S&W 3913? Anyway, BobAsh and TonyRumore sent me this way.

Welcome to OSA Katie, You will get lots of opinions on what to use for home protection and CC from the members. My advise is to go rent a number of different ones and see what feels best to you. I personally favor the glocks. I have many of them and use them for both CC and HD. But You need to try out different ones to get a good feel for what will work best for you. JMHO

A S&W 3913 is an excellent pistol of you like DA/SA triggers.
Being an all metal pistol, even thought the frame is aluminum alloy, makes it heavier than polymer framed pistols of similar capacity.
The 3913 is no longer manufactured so you may have difficulty renting one.
Fortunately there are now a lot of choices in single stack 9mm pistols designed for concealed carry.
