Direct Tv for RV question

Need info on how to get sat tv for camper. I have DirectTV and understand it will cost 6.00 a month to add to my bill.
The cost is buying the dish and the dvd. Anyone know where to get the best deal without paying a premium. I've seen automatic dishes from $500 to well over $1000. Don't know the difference. Would like to get the High def model....

When I had my rv, I found an old dish and put it on a tripod stand. Took it and my box from home with me. I had a mark on stand that showed true north and used a compass to set it up

I'm a moderator over on an RV forum that has a category for technology on the road. Follow the link below to that category and read through as you wish. If you type in "Direct TV" in the search function in the blue bar at the top, you can see threads related to Direct TV.

RV Dreams - Technology on the Road

We live in our RV, but it is pretty much sitting in one place most of the time and we have Direct TV. However, I can't help you much because I'm not really interested in paying extra for HD. We use a small satellite dish on a tripod and have a two line cable running to out coach. It certainly works for what we want. However, if you are going to move around and be in different places, one of the automatic dishes might work out best for you.
