I'm thinking about taking my Glock 35 and 20 and tricking them out.
I wanna know what you all think.
The 35 will have Tru-Glo fiber optic/night sights, KKM barrel, Zev Fulcrum trigger, stippling job done by Danger Close Armament, and some sort of slide and mag release.
The 20 will have also a KKM barrel, Trijicon RMR, Streamlight TRL-2s light, I'll lighten up the trigger to about 4lbs, and the same stippling job done.
I'm just wondering what y'all think about this set up.
Plus tell what would be your tactical pistol set up.

Take the 35 put on the sights of your choice, put in a Ghost connector and do the $0.25 trigger job. Put some grip tape on it in advantageous areas. Then put a Dawson magwell on it and shoot the crap out of it. Gen 4's don't need and different mag or slide releases. The barrel seems like a waste of money to me and stippling, although cool, doesn't really offer any significant advantage over grip tape and it kills the value of your gun.

I've played with the projected dots; I would save the money for mags and ammo. The only mag-release worth spending the $$ for would be AroTek's that they install. Everything else sticks waaaaaay too far out for rough-n-tumble. For paper-punching, an aftermarket barrel is okay, but in practical terms you'll never be better than the factory barrel. All aftermarkets I've seen are billed as "match chamber", which translates to "feeding issues if your grip isn't perfect/rigid".

Long story short:
TFOs are great sights
Stippiling is a definite plus
The TLR is a great light

You're talking "tactical", so run the same setup on both guns. If you "need" the fulcrum trigger, the money you save not getting the RMR will let you buy 2. The other savings can be spent buying an extra upper, or frame, and rebuild parts.

The only things a Glock needs is mags and ammo. A nice set of sights might be ok too, but Glocks are "Perfection" straight outta da box.

Hell, my Gen 2 Glock 22 is still wearing the same factory stuff today as it did when I got it way back in 1991. It has fired tens of thousands of rounds flawlessly since then. It looks like **** but runs perfectly.

I think we need a consistent definition of the word "tactical".

Other than that,

Good steel sights, and/or optic that work for you and your eyes.
A good light, i prefer SF.
Texturing the frame except for RTF and gen 4 guns.
Improved mag release for any pre gen 4 gun.

Thats it, and only after the shooter has identified those areas as needing improvement for themselves. None of these mods are needed for a tactical gun, unless they improve functionality or reliability.

Well with the aftermarket barrel I'll be able to shoot lead out of it. Lead is a bit cheaper than what I usually shoot which is HPR.
I guess I didn't specify that the 35 is a competition gun/SHTF gun.
The 20 is mainly for fun/SHTF type of pistol.
Also the 35 is a Gen 3 and the 20 is a Gen 4.
Plus if you didn't know I am left handed so the mag release and the slide release will probably be a bit helpful for me.
Plus I have ungodly long fingers.
That's why I kinda have the nickname "Octi Fingers".
I see a lot of competitors using the KKM barrel.
So I'm still kinda' figuring out what I oughta' have done to my pistols.
So if I can get any more advice that would be very helpful.

Being wrong handed aint a crime. Yet.

On a Glock, it can be problematic except for the sweetness that is the ambi mag release for the gen 4s.
Slide releases are kind of a pet peeve of mine. At one time i thought the over sized release was a must have for any of my pistols. What i found was the my grip would almost always interfere, sometimes causing the slide to fail locking back on an empty mag. Instead of changing my grip, which works, i simplified my reload procedure to powerstroking the slide. By doing this i basically am practicing my reload and immediate malfunction drill simultaneously whenever i reload.

The barrel swap is probably a good idea if you want to shoot lead. I havent seen a substantial enough difference in accuracy between a stock barrel and aftermarket which mitigates possible function problems by switching. Im sure i will catch some flack for that, but i cannot shoot as well as my pistol is capable of with a stock barrel and i dont shoot bare lead, so no reason for me to change.

The issue I've seen with the TruGlo TFO sights is they're setup for you to line up the dots and not the top of the sight. So when you line up the tops of the front and rear sights your dots don't line up and you end up shooting high. If you want your 35 to be "tactical" you need to add a Streamlight TLR-3 to it as well.

It's always a good idea to have a light on a tactical/defensive gun, the aftermarket barrel is a good idea for shooting lead, I don't compete so I have no idea what the other stuff does. I've always put Hogue wraparounds on my guns so never had any need for stippling. I love RMR's so I like that idea. If I could afford to have my M&P40 or G21 milled I'd put RMR's on both of them.

A G20 with an aftermarket barrel with a light on the rail and an RMR with a mag full of Buffalo Bore hard cast ammo would make an awesome hunting sidearm.
