Same thing OKCPD told me when I talked to their detective. It was OHP that issued the ticket, but the OKCPD detective believes I'll have to talk to the Lincoln County Sheriff Dept's Detective to do anything. He said he's pretty sure that OHP wouldn't touch it even though they issued the citation.

The LCSO's detective is out of office for the day, but I at least already have a new driver's license, so my old number is now void.

GC says this is correct. You need to start with filing a report with the County Sheriff in the county the ticket was written in. He says to get a hold of an investigator with the sheriff's office. They may or may not send you back to OSBI, he's not sure about that, but the County definitely is where you need to start.

Well, Lincoln County referred me to OHP, LOL! So, I've been in contact with one of the OHP Lt's, and he's given the case to one of their investigators, and he's going to call me tomorrow. I guess how it typically works is the officer that issues the citation is generally responsible for investigating cases like this, but this officer is on extended personal leave, so it had to be given to someone else to handle.

Well, slowly but surely, making circles, but making bits of progress along the way!

And IF they find out who it was and file charges, it will have to be with the Lincoln County DA cause that's where the offense occurred.

Talk about the royal run-around. Wow.

That's why they have troop z. And if they presented a false identification troopers will (or at least had in the past) worked the case themselves.... See not all troopers are tail light chasers (just most of them). I have a friend that's a brown shirt in that county but it sounds like your getting g taken care of. As far as the sheriff's office not taking the report that's complete crap. I see more officers spend more time trying to get out of a report then it takes to actually write one. Also for future reference you can check out www.odcr.com
