I have a Heritage Angler 10' that I love. I don't have the cash to spend on a $1,200 kayak, and I wouldn't for what I use it. Kayak fishing is freedom.

There are fishing kayaks and recreational kayaks as I'm sure you've seen. One model I saw the other day in a BP ad said it was stable enough to stand up in.

I fish a smaller local lake in the winter. There is a guy that comes out most evenings in a Kayak that has it set up with rod holders, fish locator, anchor system, and other accessories I'm sure. He gets around great.

I've had sea kayaks a mile or so out in the ocean on calm days.

Kayak fishing is awesome! We rented some in Minnesota to fish the boundary waters. They weren't very comfortable for all-day, but we didn't know any different.

The kayaks we rented in Grand Isle were much better though, purpose built for fishing. I'm 300-ish and ran on no issues fully loaded. Can't remember the brand now, but remember the google results after we got back... they were pushing $3k... decided to buy a boat instead... and one day, I will lol
