I decided to check the pattern on new ammo I purchased a few weeks ago. It is Federal Premium 12 GA 2 3/4 00 8 Pellet LE 13300 Flitecontrol (I wrote 13200 on the target from memory, it is incorrect). I used a Remington 870 with an IC extended choke. I was impressed that the majority of pellets hit the torso. It wasn't off the bench, just standing and shooting ~1 sec between shots using the 1001, 1002, 1003 method, the last round on the left underarm may be due to me being rusty... The recoil was noticeably less compared to other 00. I believe I will order more in the near future. Cheers.
