The school is on main floor. She plans on talking with the company lawyer. Her other worry is more at leaving her gun locked in her car. Sure people do it with no problems but all it takes is that one time her car is broken into. She is the director of HR so she has to set the example. I think most of the guys aren't into guns or have not come out about owning one. She does have a few pics of family at the range so it's not that she hides it just no one has said anything to her.

I didn't mention in my post yesterday. My wife is well paid and holds the position of Director of Property Management (Oragne County) for a large national real estate investment firm. I just asked her this questions. She said that all common areas, corridors and lobbiest are not controlled by the tenant unless that tenant occupies all the space in a single floor. However, if the tenant occupies all the space in the first floor they do not "own" or lease the lobby and common areas.

Since your wife's company occupies several levels of the building exclusively, those corridor area beginning at the elevator exit to said floors are leased space by her company.

I would imagine this is pretty typical most if not all commercial buildings.

Thanks Parks 788 good information. You are probably right. Meeting with the lawyer might clear up the issue somewhat and it may be in the lease agreement the company has. About a year ago they had an incident where a homeless guy wandered into the main lobby and got on the elevator, before a scan device was installed and made his way into the company gym before being discovered by an employee. Employee contacted my wife who confirmed it and called police. Man was cooperative when police arrived but it could have gone a different way. She did take one of the men in the office with her and she’s does carry pepper spray in her purse at all times and will use it.
