I've posted this before. I had a person lease out my land because he thought I was an absentee owner. He paid a big fine, but no jail time. I wanted jail, but it didn't happen. He probably made a net profit as he was leasing out thousands of acres.
The good news is I just got a place near my work up in Billings...hope my wife doesn't find out...she is a little skeptical of my recent decision making...I will keep you posted.

He seems like a straight shooter to me. I had a check drew up to him a few days ago but you beat me to the chase. Haha. I wish you the best of luck out there RT.

Sorry about that, it was strictly a coincidence, a contractor was in my office yesterday morning telling me about the place and I acted quickly. As you can see from the rest of the conversation I deserve a little good fortune.

I absolutely agree with you. That really sucks about that situation with the bad landowner. I bet you'll be just fine with John. I have a quarter section in Hughes Co. but when I heard he was leasing one of his I tried to get in on that.

Let me know if he has another one come up soon. I'll be on the market for 2016+

RT sorry to hear about that you took the right route the legal one. But that's what is wrong with this country anymore. back in the day if somebody had a ass whipping coming. you could give them one and just pay a fine go about your business.
And what happen to you can happen to any good person because they is a lot of sorry ass people out there. Glad to here you got you another lease good luck to you.

I'd get my money's worth and hunt the place anyway...not sure why you have to ask permission after you already paid.

Bring a copy of the cashed check as a form of "proof" if he calls the law on you LOL.
