120 Acres will hunt dressed just like that until the first snow falls too! Watch out for the eastern OK characters :)

LOL Okie4570. Id probably think I was losing my mind if I saw that come bobbing down the trail. My scare off a few deer with the sound of my jaw dropping and hitting the ground underneath my stand.

And yes Okie, there are some characters for sure over that way. There isn't any place quite like far east & southeast OK :o

I'm a big fan of Leopold's VX3 1.5-5 illuminated scopes, and that's actually what I use on my crossbow. Where I live in east Texas is pretty much the same kind of terrain as in eastern OK, and that scope is perfect around here.

I like magnification as much as anyone and have a few 4.5-14 scopes on rifles, but if folks are really honest with themselves, most of us are "over scoped". However, I also subscribe to the idea that I'd rather have too much scope than not enough.

Justin, I hunt about 3 miles as a crow flies from Marble City. My '06 has a 3-9 and my 7-08 has a 2-7. Both work well as we hunt deep, thick nasty stuff as well as have three 80+ acre open fields so the scope are useful for all situations. If you already have a3-9 no sense in spending money on something that will not be much better.

I shoot 300 yards all the time at our range in Ponca with a 3X fixed power scope on a M4 AR, and consistently hit a 10" steel swinger.

I've hunted very little in the eastern part of the state, but what I have you could just about point the barrel at them, and pull the trigger.

No need to spend major bucks on optics if that is your situation where you hunt.

Yep my muzzleloader has a 4x fixed. Kiss no worrying if turned too high at short range(done that one before). My 308 has 2x7..more than enough.
