That's a good potion of our problem. Uninformed people are very likely to stick with whatever fantasy/scenario is fed to them. It's easier that way.

It's shocking how many people haven't figured out how reality works. They really think it corresponds to their wishes or beliefs, and haven't figured out that it carries strict requirements for survival. We all get taught that lesson one way or another... some just won't survive the teaching.

Pretty much the essence of what MG is saying is that your goal should be to promote your values within your community/group, but to be sure to choose rational values. That is really the essence of my personal philosophy.

Lots of problems arise when people choose irrational values, like forcing others to do things (other than leave you alone).
