My beagle went just a couple of months ago. She was 16. Quite old for a beagle from what I've read.
We have a cat that we kicked out of the house several years ago for being a slob. (We have a heated sun room with a doggie door) She and that dog had become good buddies. She still hasn't shut up with the constant meowing at the back door.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I wish they would live as long as us. I have lost too many dogs. I have three left and they are getting up there in their years. My oldest which is 14 just had a cancerous tumor removed from his privates. Probably won't live but a couple more years. Sucks so bad. Hang in there.
Thanks and I hear you. Lost three in the last six years. Seven year old left currently in my chair next to me. Enjoy them while you can, for their time with us is too short.
I grew up with a Schnauzer. They're great pups.
She was a looker too. Sorry to hear of your loss. They hurt just as much as family does when they go.
