You'd probably want brand new, factory parts from the dealer for your 1979 Ford F-100 too, I'm surmising.

Get glad in the same pants you got mad in. They treated you way better than you deserve. The defensive posts of your rants are beginning to get old and childish.

I'm sorry that you didn't get the exact same knife back in better condition, but unfortunately times and technology change and it's just not possible to replace or upgrade parts at some point in the future and this occurs with EVERY PRODUCT MADE. You have reached that point with this product. It sucks, but you'll just have to put your big boy pants on and enjoy your new, 'lower' quality knife. BTW- I bought a Benchmade about 20 months ago BECAUSE of their quality. It's heads and tails above what Kershaw, Cold Steel, SOG and others are putting out these days!

Best of luck to you, good sir!
I'm childish and my rants are getting old, hmmm I wasn't aware I post rants all the time, please feel free to share them all since it appears there are so many of them, and your little comment about the old ford, well read my above response, there was a defect according to benchmade, and thy no longer had the parts to repair, so I'll go get glad in the pants I got mad in and you sit on the computer, it's Saturday and I'm over this sh1t, have a nice weekend folks

I don't think it's a mistake or irrational. It's his opinion, and maybe he has higher expectations that others. Nothing wrong with that. Personally, I'd be satisfied with the code for a new Benchmade; but to each his own.

Every one is entitled to their own opinion. I'm curious on how any of what they offer is less? They gave you 175 for an assisted open knife and you wanted an auto. To me it sounds like that they offered apples to apples and you want an upgrade. If you were planning on dropping cash why couldn't you have just sold the certificate off and bout an auto local or ask someone on this board who's military or a Leo to use your certificate and buy the auto.

Again every one has their own opinions and you can choose who you do and don't give your money to.

Since you are swearing off benchmade I'll trade you an academy gift card that has almost $50 on it to take that horrible companies certificate off your hands...

i believe you are in the right. it is up to us the consumer to hold these billion dollar coporations to theyre word. it says lifetine warranty because its expected to last a lifetime under normal wear and tear. why are you our fello osa members taking the side of benchmade? why are you so critical of your fello osa member? be kind or be quiet..

I'm not sure what you are upset about, the amount they gave for a new knife or the fact that you could not order an auto action knife. If you are upset about the auto action just find someone on here who is active military or a LEO to have the knife mailed to, nothing illegal about that. I had a benchmade, which had the pivot screw come out of it. I also have two auto action knives. I wanted to send them all in to have the two autos serviced and sharpened and the other repaired. However, benchmade said they could not mail them to me because I am retired form the military. I sort of felt like they offered a warranty on an item, that the average consumer could never use.
