It's called Petralex. Just playing around with it a little bit. It's good for not having to turn the TV up too much. It runs each ear through about 8 different tones where you tap the screen as soon as you can hear the tone. Then it increases the volume of the tones you can't hear that well.
Thanks, I'll check it out.

I downloaded the Petralex app and worked up a profile. Tried it in same room as the TV and the normal TV sound and the Petralex sound clashed with each other. In other words, I could hear them both at the same time. Kinda confusing.

I have the newer iPhone ear buds that fit in the ear tighter than the round ones. Don't know if that makes a difference.

I have the Starkey's. I have had them for a little over a year. They are my 1st pair so I don't have anything to compare them to. I will say they made a huge difference in ability to hear. I haven't had any of the issues some of the others described. The battery life greatly depends what Mode you have them in. "Stream Boost" drains the batteries fairly quickly. This is the mode it uses to Bluetooth audio from your phone. The Geo Tag features and the ability to pipe your phone into the hearing aids is nice.

I have Starkey's, altho not as advanced as Gunrunner45's. My hearing sucks without them. With them, I can hear very well. However, the ability to clearly distinguish the spoken word is weak. There are some voices that I can make out very well. However, most don't fit that mold and some are just almost undecipherable without concentrating very hard. It is frustrating.

W/O them, I would be near deaf; with them, I can at least communicate at a rudimentary level. I guess I should consider myself lucky.

One to many M1's blowing off over my head.

The batteries in my Starkey's last about 2 weeks on average. I don't wear them all the time though, just a few hours a day. They are the cheap ones Zinio's I believe. They work good for tv and when
I go out to a restaurant or where I need to hear people talk. I generally get batteries at Walgreen's or CVS or online when they have a sale. I got enough for a year or so now!

My Starkey's batteries last a week or so. I wear them about 15 hours a day. I also get mine 2 for 1 at Walgreens. I keep a close watch at Wall's. They sometimes have them at good prices. If I find them for .60/each, I'm ok with it. There are some good prices online, but not better to the point I go there instead of local.
