I need one piece of this from Brownells
080-037-116WB 10 Pack 1/2"x1/16" Spring Stock

Need to make four hold down clips for metal lids and one 16" piece would be more than enough material. I could buy the 10 pack from Brownells but 9 would end up being in my junk till I died.
Just thought I might get lucky and find someone that has ordered the 10 pack and didn't use all of it.

Thanks

appreciate the reply,

Looked at everything I could find on-line and the tool places I found only have shim stock in 6 inch widths and usually 25 to 50 feet lengths for $50.00+. Wouldn't expect wholesale tool to be any different but will check.

The spring stock above would be perfect but like I said it would be a big waste for me to buy a whole package. Have checked eBay and so far nothing in such a small quantity. Maybe I'll get lucky and find something I can repurpose.

Thanks for the metal supermarket lead. Went to the on-line site, they didn't have the spring steel I need but was able to order two pieces of plate steel for about half of what On-Line metals wanted for the same product. It will ship out of the OK City store and should have it in a few days.

Father-in -law busted a spring steel clip on an injector rail on his chrysler car.
You had to purchase the entire rail..He made a clip from a putty knife.

I think some of those type of knife's and trowels are quite springy and cheap.
But not 1/16" thick.
Old leaf springs have a taper on the ends that gets thin.. If you had that kind of stuff laying around.
Trying to think of what else would be spring steel.. the coil spring for the pull start in the lawnmower.

I have a pack of the smaller spring steel stock from Brownell's but the widest is only 3/8 inch. I use it to make exact size screw drivers. PM me with an address if you want to try a piece of what I have.

Thanks but don't think 3/8 would be quite wide enough. Need to go to lowes anyway, may look to see what cheap putty knives they have. Might get lucky.
