What chaps me is the home & garden show is free admission

I go to 1 or 2 shows buy my NRA membership at 1 & order from Powder Valley to make it worth while .

The big OKC Home & garden show is not free. It's $11.00 admission. The booths range anywhere from $800-900 to $1800 and up. Plus, the event fills up 3 very large buildings.

I enjoy the gun shows and I enjoys talking with people but $12 is way off! Then RK pulled their crap this weekend, I will check them off the list if they cant get it back down to $6 cause the $12 entry is B.S.
Also what with the others not having a vetrans discount?

What if the admission were free and the table rent paid for the space? what if they weren't at the state fair? Last time i did a $14 million project out there they didnt even car if they had anyone but the horse folks show up.... look at what happened to the speed way! maybe the space is to much money and we should find another venue!

I enjoy gunshows and I'm sure some number crunchin mall ninja is gonna tell me the business side of it now, but if the building space is to high then have it some place else or advertising is to much then find another solution! Heck there are farm fields all over Oklahoma and I bet there are still a few barns open to a friendly swap meet.

Event insurance..... wow lets pay for some B.S., is that what made our country great, insurance salesmen and lawyers?

If I have a garage sale I guess I'll charge admission to cover the event insurance!

HA!

It better be some sale!

Go on and go without it, and watch someone sue you into bankruptcy.

Yeah, against sound reason we have become a society who is dependent on insurance, we also lack fortitude in many other areas also and we pay for that as well.
I am not saying that we can go without it now, but can we not have some friendly discussion about how it’s lining the pockets of some while other never see a benefit? Can we not agree on that? I don’t like paying insurance for coverage I have no intention to use. I don’t like paying lawyers for services written in a foreign language just to stand before a judge soaking up tax dollars to make a decision he knows nothing about. Or paying doctors…. Wait back to the gun shows! $12 is way to much, is there any other option for holding a gun show other than throwing money into OKC pocket and having hefty admission fees? You may not like my wise guy remarks about my opinions on insurance, and I don’t care if you like it or not. Matter of fact that’s all I have seen so far is opinions. Let’s get down to brass here, where could we have a gun show? How can we keep costs down? I’m sure some of you assume you are much more capable, leaps above some others here so, let that ego run and lead! Tell me where you need help and I/we will help. If nothing else there are floors to be swept after and I can run a broom seeing as how I apparently know nothing about the intricate workings or the illusive gun show!

I get why you're upset. But that's LITERALLY the idea of insurance. If it weren't, the insurers either wouldn't be able to get their assets above their insurance liabilities, or no one would be able to afford it.

Now if you want to talk about how litigation has driven up the need and incidences of insurance claims, that I'd handily believe.

Also, didn't OSA member SuperDave go down this exact same road. How did his shows turn out?
