make sure it has the SPC II chamber. you can load the SPC II chamber up to some scary velocities. most folks use the 120 grain SST for deer at another board where i post and get solid 6.8 info. some are using the Speer 90 gr gold dot bullet, or the 100-110 accubond. i currently have six 6.8 spc II. remember the 6.8 round was developed for 16" barrel

My son smoked this one with a 6.8 suppressed rifle at 150 yards. Use a good bullet and you'll have no issues.

So, just out of curiosity, why did yall pick the 6.8? The ballistics on paper just are not very impressive. I realize the deer do not read the ballistics chart, I was just curious as to what sold yall on it.

The ballistics on the 6.8 are better than 5.56 for medium sized game at short to intermediate ranges, are they not? :anyone:
