Have a ton of respect for the grunts. After all, they're the ones at the tip of the spear.

My little bro is shipping out January 8th and i'm going to meps next tuesday hopefully.

Were you a Marine? A Marine Infantryman? If not, you have no idea WTF you're talking about. Every Marine is a rifleman first. I served as an infantry officer in the USMC for a shade over 21 years, some of the finest men in the world were grunts. I take issue when they get disrespected. I'm hoping your post was not intended to be that way and that I just read it wrong.

To the OP; congratulations. When your brother graduates, he will be a member of a tremendous brotherhood of folks who proudly wear or wore the Eagle Globe and Anchor. Even if he is just a "dumb" grunt.

By your leave Sir,
No disrespect intended.
Restated;
Congrats to OP for being a good role model for an honor student.
Does he know his MOS yet? just curious, back in my day you could get a guaranteed MOS.
Keep us updated as you hear from him.
I guess they still send letters.
There were no cell phones in the 80's when I went to San Diego. Do they tell recruits to leave them at home or put them in the box with your civies until you graduate?
Yes, I still have my expert rifle badge in a box in the attic and would pick up my rifle today to defend my brothers and wm's in arms if needed. Will be proud to welcome him to the brotherhood soon.
Carry on.

Congrats to you and your brother. Best guy's in the world I've met and served with were 0311's.

Or the Navy Corpsmen who served alongside them. Some of the hardest Recon Marines I served with were those fearless Squids. It's like they got this mutant gene or something to run into fire to pull a wounded Marine to cover. Crazy bastids.

Well...I'm back in town. My brother graduated USMC and is now PFC. M Brozek. He got rifle expert and they gave him the honor of 7251 (Air Traffic Controller). Very hard job and the marines won't put just anyone in the school. I'm very proud of him.

He'll be back in OKC for a few days before heading out to Pensacola,FL. A few more days to spend hearing the stories of the Reaper the best 2 Christmas cookies he had. Lol

My hats off to all the Marines and the graduates of INSANE INDIA CO 3202
