What would you guys say are the top crappie lakes in OK? I live in OKC but have fished all over the state for them. Ft. Cobb and Kaw have produced nice fish for me, and Thunderbird usually has good numbers, just very small. I've fished Texoma for them several times and have never consistently caught them. Arbuckle, eufuala?

So what do you guys think are the top 2-3 crappie lakes?

The issue here is, it's the Internet and searchable. I agree with your choices and observations. Thunderbird does a lot of small crappie as they're over populated. Hence why saugeye are stocked, to help keep the population in check.

What I will suggest is, check the lake records. It'll give you an idea of what you might can expect and with some sleuthing, you can piece together a game plan.

I don't know if it classifies as a top crappie lake, but I have not a clue at how many big slab crappie I've hauled out of Texoma. Bunches! Many late nights wearing out an electric knife. I would assume it's in the running unless something has happened down there since I've been. That could be, it's been a few years.

Not in OK, but Lake Ray Roberts in North Texas was extremely good several years ago. A friend used to catch the daily limit until his freezer was full, along with what he gave away.

We've drifted apart over the years, so I don't have any recent info.
