Had to send the boys to the basement last night for the first time this year. Lots of tornadoes, very large hail, and huge straight line winds all around us up here. We were lucky. Tornado was just South of us and baseball sized hail just barely North. All we had was high winds, quarter sized hail, and the occasional golf ball sized thrown in (luckily those missed the truck).

Good luck with your install! This year may be a doozy!

Yeah, we don't have a storm shelter either. I figure if anything comes we'll just chain ourselves to a pipe, like in that movie "Twister".
Plus, $50 for a good chain sounds much more reasonable than $3k on a concrete bunker, and the money we save will more than cover the ER deductibles to treat all those little scratches from being outside in a tornado. Unless we get hit by a flying cow of course, but i figure the odds of that happening in real life are slim to non!

Yeah, nothing to worry about, those little 6 inch pieces of wood flying around at 200 mph only leave a little scratch where they enter your body, and a slightly larger one where they exit.

Is there someone close to Haskell that could find or knows the number for the concrete storm shelters on highway 72 between Coweta and Haskell? It was in a field next to the road and said $2,000 installed. It's been a while since I saw it and it may not be there anymore.

Our house was hit be an F2 last March and my wife will have a panic attack if we are ever under a tornado warning again without a shelter.

Or if someone can recommend an outside, in ground shelter, that would be appreciated.

I'm in the Owasso area.
I'm out in rural wagoner cnty near Coweta, I don't mind going out there and checking it out for ya if no one does. If I do I will get a number at least.

I just saw the one with the sign on it. Looks like they build them there tho. I drove on out to Haskell and back and didn't see any other type of business doing that so I assume it was the one youre looking for.

I don't think I saw that happen in the movie. I'll have to watch it again, as it's been a while, but obviously Hollywood wouldn't steer us wrong on something as serious as this!
