Firstly, the 2A was designed to keep citizens as well armed as gubment.
Short barreled shotguns were regulated because "SBS have no military use (yet we see every military shotgun is short) and therefore the 2A does not protect them".
So at that time the 2A was understood correctly to protect military weapons specifically so the citizenry could fight off gubment. Somehow the socialists have reversed it so as the 2A does NOT protect military weapons at all.
The biggest fight over repealing the 86 legislation will come from within our own ranks. The NFA club is now elite. Too expensive for common peasants. Current club members do not want everyone to join. They like their elite status. Their argument is always "the value of my guns will drop overnight".
1st problem with that is, so an extreemly small group of elites (150,000) get to keep the countless millions from exercising their god given and constitutiinaly protected right of possession just because they paid too much money for their toys?
2nd priblem with the argument is, just because new weapons will be available hardly means the value of the originols ( the first ones, the ones that will NEVER be made again) will suddenly be worth less.
That thinking says that the PTR has driven the HK91 down to $1000? PWA or DPMS has driven the value of Colt, or H&R down to $600? Thats complete ********. Guns are worth what they are because of when and where they were made and by who.
So a guy buys a brand new Tommygun. Are we to believe that suddenly that 1927 drops to $1100? ********.
They are making model 70 rifles to the pre 64 prints. Guess what... a pre 64 still commands a hefty price because? Its pre 64.
Dont think the NRA will back this. Remember, those boys are elites with awesome collections.
If they were really serious about the 2A, they would be all over this. Sadly i suspect that the right to bear arms is not their absolute goal.

You shouldn't speak in generalities. I'm a "club member" and would gladly welcome tax free NFA items for all. I know plenty of others who feel the same way.

Funny, I've met quite a few NFA owners, not a single one that wouldn't be thrilled if the NFA were abolished today........I'm sure there are a few out there who would worry about the value of their collection, but most of us would rather the law went away so we could buy more!!

Needs to go back farther than 1986. The NFA of 1934 needs to be repealed. Isn't this the second or third time this petition has been brought up?

I wonder if the State of Oklahoma acted like the state of Colorado and legalized machine guns say made in the state of Oklahoma and only for its residents while living here. You couldn't take it with you if you moved out of state.
